This identity was created for the man who, perhaps, knows the lumps, bumps and dents of my body just as well as my wife - my rugby physio. And, although trading rub downs with design work sounds outrageous, it worked well for the both of us.
I initially addressed the naming of the business, as STAR Clinics (an acronym for sports therapy and rehabilitation) was lost in translation. As was the word clinic which didn’t have the right connotations. A simple word mark was created through clean typography, with a subtle story of gradual progression weaved in. The new identity is all black (no rugby connections by the way!) so that the stationery could be printed cheaply and from home - as and when needed.
I also created a star mnemonic which featured four worded, sports related messages and which could be applied to envelopes, letterheads, pin badges, clothing and so on. The star being a subtle connection back to the former name and the words a signal of Garry's friendly, informal personality.
